LDA Architects with EHDD Architects, completed preliminary plans for the seismic renovation and re-programming for the California State Supreme Court Building, a Beaux Arts designed structure located at the San Francisco Civic Center Plaza.

The base isolation engineering required infilling 64,000 square feet at the rear of the building and resulted in a total of 251,000 square feet. The historically significant building's exterior granite facades were strengthened and their appearance was unscathed. Historically relevant interior spaces will be preserved while the functions of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals will be accommodated following a program focused on producing one of today's finest modern justice centers.
