United States Postal Service
Station E, San Francisco, California

A thorough and complex remodeling of this station was accomplished
while maintaining uninterrupted day-to-day normal post office services.
Careful construction phasing allowed for smooth demolition and construction
simultaneously with business as usual.

The Postal Service requested a complete turnaround of identity from
a crowded and cluttered public space, to a more open, modern, efficient
and easily used facility. Durable, rich-colored flooring, wood-trimmed
package slides, generous lighting, spacious box locations, color
graphics, and computerized service counters all suggest the state
of the art in mail service.
