LDA provided design-build assistance to W. E. Lyons Construction Co. for the development of occupied office and engineering support facilities for a gas turbine power plant. We assumed responsibility for resolving Code compliance requirements, for the coordination of the general contractor’s many consulting engineers, and for the integration of these facilities into the entire development of the power plant.

The project was able to meet the owner’s objective to speed this plant into operation in order to relieve California’s summertime peak energy demands that it was intended to resolve.

Although utilitarian in its nature, LDA provided plan proposals and color consultation which made best use of available natural light to create a comfortable and inviting working experience.

In cooperating with the general contractor in an ongoing exchange of ideas and information, the facility received the advantages of both architectural design qualities and cost management in a balanced project.
